The international conference 'The Architecture of Need: Collective-Use Facilities and Community Service in the Twentieth Century' took place in Lisbon (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation) and Evora between 29 and 31 October 2024. It was organised by the initiative Arquitectura Aqui within the framework of the research projects ReARQ.IB – Built Environment Knowledge for Resilient, Sustainable Communities: Understanding Everyday Modern Architecture and Urban Design in the Iberian Peninsula (1939-1985) (European Research Council – ERC Starting Grant 949686), hosted by DINÂMIA’CET – Centre for the Study of Socioeconomic Change and the Territory (Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon), and ArchNeed – The Architecture of Need: Community Facilities in Portugal (1945-1985) (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – PTDC/ART-DAQ/6510/2020), hosted by CIDEHUS – Interdisciplinary Centre for History, Culture and Societies (University of Évora).

Entre 29 e 31 de outubro de 2024 teve lugar em Lisboa (Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian) e Évora a conferência internacional 'The Architecture of Need: Collective-Use Facilities and Community Service in the Twentieth Century', organizada pela iniciativa Arquitectura Aqui no âmbito dos projetos de investigação ReARQ.IB – Built Environment Knowledge for Resilient, Sustainable Communities: Understanding Everyday Modern Architecture and Urban Design in the Iberian Peninsula (1939-1985) (European Research Council – ERC Starting Grant 949686), sediado no DINÂMIA’CET – Centro de Estudos sobre a Mudança Socioeconómica e o Território (Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa), e ArchNeed – The Architecture of Need: Community Facilities in Portugal (1945-1985) (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – PTDC/ART-DAQ/6510/2020), sediado no CIDEHUS – Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades (Universidade de Évora).
