Entre el 29 y el 31 de octubre de 2024 tuvo lugar en Lisboa (Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian) y Évora la conferencia internacional 'The Architecture of Need: Collective-Use Facilities and Community Service in the Twentieth Century', organizada por la iniciativa Arquitectura Aqui en el ambito de los proyectos de investigación ReARQ.IB – Built Environment Knowledge for Resilient, Sustainable Communities: Understanding Everyday Modern Architecture and Urban Design in the Iberian Peninsula (1939-1985) (European Research Council – ERC Starting Grant 949686), con sede en DINÂMIA'CET – Centro de Estudos sobre a Mudança Socioeconómica e o Território (Iscte – Instituto Universitario de Lisboa), y ArchNeed – The Architecture of Need: Community Facilities in Portugal (1945-1985) (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – PTDC/ARTDAQ/6510/2020), con sede en CIDEHUS – Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades (Universidad de Évora).

The international conference 'The Architecture of Need: Collective-Use Facilities and Community Service in the Twentieth Century' took place in Lisbon (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation) and Evora between 29 and 31 October 2024. It was organised by the initiative Arquitectura Aqui within the framework of the research projects ReARQ.IB – Built Environment Knowledge for Resilient, Sustainable Communities: Understanding Everyday Modern Architecture and Urban Design in the Iberian Peninsula (1939-1985) (European Research Council – ERC Starting Grant 949686), hosted by DINÂMIA’CET – Centre for the Study of Socioeconomic Change and the Territory (Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon), and ArchNeed – The Architecture of Need: Community Facilities in Portugal (1945-1985) (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – PTDC/ART-DAQ/6510/2020), hosted by CIDEHUS – Interdisciplinary Centre for History, Culture and Societies (University of Évora).
